Vegan skincare heroes

Good afternoon.

Let’s start with a very happy new year! I hope that 2021 is kinder to us all.

Veganuary has never been more popular, with over half a million people pledging to go vegan for January. In honour of this, I am going to share with you some of my favourite vegan skincare products, all of which are extremely appropriate for Winter.

I don’t know about you but this time of year sends my skin bonkers, the wind, rain and central heating leave my skin in desperate need of nourishment and these three hero products are some that I swear by year round but especially in the colder months.

Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin Amazing Sleep Oil

In my previous Beauty Pie posts, I have left this off of the list and I have no idea why, it is probably my favourite product of theirs. I absolutely love face oil and this is up there with the best.

This facial oil contains evening primrose, anti aging algae extracts, essential fatty acids and omega 3’s, it is also a great source of vitamincs A & E. Amazing Sleep Oil sinks into the skin so gorgeously and leaves my skin smooth, bright and glowy, this facial oil lasts for ages and feels and smells extremely luxe. I use this oil every night and it is perfect for use with a roller or gua sha/ facial massage.

All Beauty Pie products are cruelty free and most of them are vegan, their website is very transparent in this matter and have a definitive list of all of their vegan products which can be found here.

Plenaire Skin Frosting

Skin Frosting is Plenaire’s hydrating mask, I use it once a week and it leaves my skin nourished, smooth and hydrated. Plenaire is a vegan, cruelty free skincare brand, they have a small amount of products which cater to a plethora of concerns and I honestly love this brand.

Skin Frosting contains so many gorgeous nourishing ingredients including; coconut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter and camelia oil and is perfect when skin is dry and irritated. The texture is really creamy and moussey which I love, it also smells delicious but not overpowering.

I love to use this as an overnight mask and wake up with a really glowy face but you can also leave it on for ten minutes as part of a faster skincare routine.

Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser Original

Last Summer I went to Aldi after hearing countless great things about their skincare range. I picked up a few products including some serums and moisturisers and the hot cloth cleaner which a. is probably their most popular product and b. my favourite product from Lacura.

This hot cloth cleanser contains rosemary, cocoa butter, chamomile and eucalyptus oil and it is equal parts soothing and refreshing. This is a 2 step cleanser where you apply it first and then wash it off with a hot, wet muslin cloth which is included, I would recommend buying a few spare cloths so that you can use a clean one every couple of uses.

I love a hot cloth cleanser, it’s really good for getting all of the grime off of your face after a long day and the steam from the cloth mixed with the eucalyptus is glorious to experience. After using this cleanser I find that the next steps of my skincare routine are more effective. This is also an absolute steal, I can’t remember the exact amount but it was less than £5 for 200ml so will last for ages.
