Gift guide 2020: The wellness edit

Good afternoon guys,

I am here today with a Wellness Gift Guide, for obvious reasons self care was big in 2020 and these gifts will cater for people who love to elevate their self care and wellness experiences.

It is impossible to know what is going to happen over the next few months but I think it’s important for people to take time for themselves to relax where they can.

I am making a conscious effort to support small, independent businesses this Christmas (and in general) and please feel free to recommend any that you think I may have missed.

Luna salts

It will come as no surprise that I absolutely love a good bath. Luna Salts came onto my radar on Instagram and I was immediately drawn to the simple packaging and relaxing ingredients.

There is a selection of salt blends which cover myriad essential oils and different salts. I absolutely love Reborn which contains Epsom salts, citrus and eucalyptus essential oils, it is so invigorating and smells like a spa. I can’t wait to try more of the selection and know that these will make a perfect gift for people who need more relaxation in their life.

You can find Luna Salts on Etsy. All ingredients are cruelty free and vegan and the packaging is 100% recyclable.

Tonic

I have loved this book for years now and recommend it to everybody. Tonic contains recipes and natural remedies for a number of moods and ailments.

Tonic recipes use herbs, spices and other ingredients to create delicious, healing, immune boosting tonics and probiotics. Author Tanita de Ruijt also explains the uses and healing properties of each of the ingredients, I learnt so much about natural remedies from this book and it looks absolutely stunning on the shelf.

My favourite tonic by a mile is the Fever Grass Tonic which is perfect when you have a cold (or feel one coming on) it completely blasts your sinuses and leaves you with a clearer nose, throat and head. The hangover cures are definitely worth a look also.

Silk eye mask

I have been wearing an eye mask since I was about 11 and over the years have tried to many but I’m yet to find anything that compares to silk.

The act of wearing an eye mask creates new levels of relaxation when it comes to sleep, I don’t know if it’s the complete darkness or the added weight to your eyes but I can’t get enough and silk makes the whole experience feel more luxe.

It is beneficial to wear silk around your eyes as it soaks up any moisture and is extremely soft against the skin. My favourite mask is from Slip Silk, I wear a navy one but they have a number of colours and playful designs. Beauty Pie offer a more affordable option which, in true Beauty Pie style, hasn’t scrimped on quality and there are some beautiful options on Trouva and Not Another Bill which can also be personalised.

Glow bar

Glow Bar is one of London’s prime wellness centres, upstairs you’ll find smoothies, adaptogens and skincare products. Downstairs is where the magic happens, Glow Bar offers infra red saunas and, more recently, a high vibe facial.

I haven’t tried the facial yet but it looks wonderful. I am a massive fan of infra red saunas though, with temperatures soaring to 70 degrees, this sweat session leaves you feeling invigorated, peaceful and glowing.

These private pods mean that you can sit and enjoy the sauna by yourself, you can connect your phone via bluetooth and put on a relaxing playlist or podcast and there is room for you to step out and grab some water (don’t forget water!) The facilities here are gorgeous and when you’re done you can pop upstairs for a drink and browse. This will make a great gift for people living in/ around London who love to feel great.

If there is anything I have missed, let me know in the comments or over on the grid.
