My favourite face masks for glowing skin

Welcome to Autumn guys. It’s that time of year when the nights have started to creep in, the temperatures are falling and I am willing to do anything to maintain that summer glow that my face has become so accustomed to.

I’m not talking about a sun tan here, I mean the super fresh, dewy look that comes with spending time in the fresh air, staying hydrated and sweating it out on a regular basis. I have no plans to abandon my healthy lifestyle, it’s just easier to find that get up and go in the summer.

Before I get off topic I’m here today to talk to you about the masks that I use to keep my skin bright and glowing. These masks definitely compliment a healthy lifestyle but they will also help you fake it on the days when you aren’t quite feeling yourself.

If you follow The Pickled Gingers on Instagram you will see that I am in love with Summer Friday’s Overtime mask. This clarifying mask is packed with lots of goodies, including pumpkin which is a natural exfoliant, vitamins A, K & E which is a powerful antioxidant. Apricot seed powder is a natural, non abrasive scrub which gets rid of dead skin cells and oat kernel nourishes and moisturises you face revealing a healthy glow.

Application could not be easier with this mask, you simply apply it, scrub it in for a minute and then leave to marinate for 10-15 minutes. It smells kind of like cinnamon and feels really natural on the face. Overtime is vegan, cruelty free and leaves you luminous!

Overtime costs £39 and lasts for about four months (but I use it about 3 times per week) so it’s pretty pricey. That said, I am in love with it and will repurchase over and over.

Brighten by Herbivore is another great mask for glowing skin, it is easy to apply, scent free and leaves skin feeling super soft and refined. Brighten has a fairly thin consistency which dries quickly and is fast acting, you can feel your pores tightening as this mask gets to work.

This mask is full of hardworking ingredients which work together to achieve a healthy, glowing face. Pineapple and papaya enzyme is a naturally derived AHA which smoothes and exfoliates and rice powder which brightens and softens the skin and has been used for centuries in Japan. Herbivore also included Brazilian white tourmaline gemstone which brightens and illuminates. After using this mask you see effects immediately.

Another thing that I like about this mask is that it lasts for ages! I got this mask at Christmas and it still has a fair amount left. It was fairly pricy at £38 but for this longevity you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck.

My third and final mask is Afterparty by Starskin. This bio cellulose sheet masks gives a high dose of brightening properties for immediate results. This mask is perfect on the day of a party for a boost and even more so the morning after when you want to transform lacklustre skin.

This is one of my favourite sheet masks ever and the results are long lasting. After Party is cooling which reduces redness and is drenched in an effective serum which contains correcting vitamin C, firming mallow extracts and cowslip which is extremely brightening. This energising mask will have you glowing in just 20 minutes, it is also an absolute dream when chilled in the fridge for a short time before use.

After Party is currently £6.94 on lookfantastic which is a tad pricey but worth it when you want to treat yourself and the effects speak for themselves.

I’m planning on these taking me all the way through the winter with my glow intact.
