If you follow The Pickled Gingers on Instagram then you will see that I absolutely love the Beauty Pie subscription service. I joined in Autumn last year and for £10 a month I have access to some of the best products that I have used at ridiculous discounts.
At first I had the same reservations that a lot of people do, of course I wondered if it was all a scam, if the products were as good as people say they are and also because, not unlike Glossier, I can’t try before I buy. Luckily, Beauty Pie subscribers love to leave reviews so you are able to get a pretty good feel for the products but as a 29 year old, the opinion of a 16 or 40 year old woman may not be all that helpful for my skin.
My purchase history has been a string of hits for which I am pretty chuffed. There are so many products that I really want to try including the hyaluronic sheet masks, Super Healthy Skin Amazing Sleep Oil (a pretty big name to live up to) and sun screen which I will get in due course. They are constantly coming out with innovative new products, I cannot wait to try the QI energy eye cream and to see if their lip balm measures up to the reviews. Take a little scroll to see a few of my favourite purchases so far.
These Vitamin C Superactive Capsules are my favourite Beauty Pie product so far and one of my favourite day time serums ever. I am in love with these capsules to the extent that I was using them for a fortnight and swiftly purchased two extra jars in case they are out of stock when I run out. (Now I can breathe easy knowing that I have enough of this product for 6 months!) These capsules hold the perfect amount of concentrated vitamin C serum for the face. This serum completely wakes up your complexion, it is brightening and protects against anti-oxidants which is perfect when you’re on the tube/ in the city smog a lot. This serum also makes skin feel baby soft which is a great base for moisturiser and sun cream.
I love a clay mask, I do one at least every Monday, in my opinion it is a great way wash away the Monday and really cleanse the skin. I bought the Super Pore-Detox Black Clay Mask because I had heard that it is a great dupe for the Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask that I had previously reviewed here and I can safely say that they both produce a thoroughly cleansed and brightened face. This mask contains glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid, all of which are great exfoliants and which get rid of dry skin to reveal a fresh face underneath. These acids also promote collagen generation which makes your skin plump and gets rid of fine lines. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this product, firstly it’s huge and goes on really easily. I leave this on for around 20 minutes, in this time the mask dries and tightens pores after clearing out spots and blackheads. There is a menthol/eucalyptus scent to this mask which smells fresh instead of synthetic and is very invigorating.
If you follow us on Instagram, you will have seen me raving about Super Healthy Skin before. It is fantastic! This cream is lifting, hydrating and extremely nourishing, it contains hyaluronic acid glides onto the skin with ease. I use this as my night-cream and I wake up to a softer, firmer face which is extremely impressive for a lightweight cream that sinks into the skin with ease. I will also add that this cream smells and feels very luxe which is a always a bonus, especially for such a steal.
I love a good face mist, they make a great toner and a refreshing spritz throughout the day. I bought Jeju Daily Rehydration Mist to replace another hyaluronic spray that I was using previously and it is 10x better in every way, it’s bigger, better and doesn’t have any lingering scents. This mist is hydrating, brightening and acts as a great pick me up. Sadly it won’t fit in an airplane compliant plastic bag but there are ways to get around that.
Not mentioned here but I also absolutely love the Patchouli and Freesia candle and the Strobing Drops if you’re not into skincare.
