Review: Holika Holika Honey Juicy Sheet Mask

By Jadie

So I popped my sheet mask cherry with this one. While I’d seen countless – slightly terrifying – photos of slimy-faced bloggers who swore by sheet masks, for some reason I was reluctant to jump on the bandwagon.

Four weeks and three sheet masks later, I’m basically a pro now and am therefore qualified to dish out advice.

So how was my first time?

What’s it for?

If your skin is in need of an instant moisture injection, the Holika Holika Honey Juicy Sheet Mask is your jam. I have a terrible time balancing my combination skin, but my dry t-zone was flake free for three days afterwards which is bordering on a miracle.

Stuff to know

Honey is beloved for its nourishing, anti-inflammatory and extremely hydrating properties, so it’s perfect for anyone who wants to restore some moisture.

It’s a cellulose fibre sheet mask covered in a silky gel that stays juicy even after 30 mins.

Pros

  • It’s packed with a serious amount of product, so schedule in an extra 10 minutes after take off to allow the excess to really soak into your skin
  • The sheet mask is a good fit and doesn’t leave you with any droppy bits, plus it settles really quickly so you can get on with stuff while it works its magic
  • It smells really good

Cons

  • There’s no backing, meaning you’ll have to be quick and whack it on as soon as it’s out of the packet (terrifying for a first-timer)
  • While it’s paraben-free, it does contain alcohol (sad face) so some people may find it drying

Why try it?

It’s instant skin saturation in a packet, and delivers what it promises. Hurrah.
